Nintendo recently dropped a new Kirby and the Forgotten Land gameplay trailer that revealed its March 25 release date as well as its co-op feature. Nintendo then followed up on that trailer by releasing some Kirby and the Forgotten Land screenshots that gave fans a closer look at its co-op mode, highlighting how Kirby and Waddle Dee will be able to work together to take out enemies. Now Nintendo has released yet another batch of Kirby and the Forgotten Land screenshots, this time focusing on Kirby’s copy abilities.

The first two screenshots show off two new copy abilities that Kirby will have in Kirby and the Forgotten Land: the Ranger and the Drill. The Drill in particular seems like it will be used quite frequently in the game, if the latest Kirby and the Forgotten Land gameplay trailer is any indication. There will likely be some other new copy abilities for Kirby to utilize in the new game that haven’t been revealed yet, but in the meantime, Nintendo has confirmed the return of some fan favorites.
The other four screenshots released by Nintendo show how some of Kirby’s classic copy abilities look in a 3D game world. The screenshots show Kirby utilizing his Bomb, Hammer, Sleep, and Tornado copy abilities, all of which should be familiar to longtime fans of the Kirby franchise. It looks like these copy abilities will function similarly to how they work in the 2D Kirby games, but they look a lot more impressive when presented in a 3D environment.
When playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land in co-op, it should be noted that only the first player will have access to these copy abilities. Player 1 will control Kirby, whereas player 2 controls the aforementioned Waddle Dee. But while Waddle Dee does not have Kirby’s copy abilities, he does come equipped with a spear with various functions that should ensure he can hold his own when fighting enemies.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land trailers and screenshots have proven impressive so far, though it remains to be seen if the game will stick the landing. Kirby fans will find out when the game launches at the end of March.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches March 25, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
