In Wondaria Ruins, Kirby will be able to use Light-Bulb Mouth Mode for the first time. When he’s not illuminating the room as Light-Bulb Mouth, he can move at a regular speed. Like every other Mouthful Mode and Copy Ability in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, there is a Treasure Road specifically for the Light-Bulb ability. If players are hoping to attempt this Treasure Road and get the Rare Stone, then they should get an idea of where to place their feet.

Light-Bulb Mouth Treasure Road Walkthrough

The Light-Bulb Mouth Treasure Road can be found in the Winter Horns overworld. It has a 2 Star Difficulty and a target time of 1:10:00. While this seems fairly low, Kirby will need to be able to light his way to reach the Rare Stone at the end of the Treasure Road.

In case some players have forgotten, holding down B to use Kirby’s light-up ability reduces his movement speed.

Area 1

Kirby has a starting time of 2:00:00. Use B when prompted next to the light bulb to become Light-Bulb Mouth Kirby. Stand in front of the generator and hold down B to power it and raise the lift. At the fork, take the right path instead of the left.

Area 2

Keep walking right and tap the B button to see where the spike traps are to avoid stepping on them. At the second fork, charge the battery on the left. Be careful not to attract the Ghost Gordos when using the light bulb.

Area 3

Go left and use the light sparingly to navigate the narrow path without taking damage. Charge the battery, and jump on the platform to the left while avoiding the cannonballs.

Area 4

Jump onto the next path, watch out for spike traps, and there will be two moving platforms on the left and right with power generators. Ignore the generators and jump onto the middle platform with the sign. Go behind the sign, walk straight along the crumbled path, then power the next generator.

Area 5

Follow the red glow of the battery sign and charge them to reach the next platform. Before jumping from platform 2 to platform 3, beware of the Gordo Bar hovering in front of the third generator. Time the jump to leap across safely. There’s another cannon that fires three consecutive cannonballs at intervals. Jump to the Rare Stone when the canon is “reloading” to avoid taking damage and falling.

If done correctly, Kirby should finish the level in a little over a minute. Meeting the Target Time will give 50 bonus Star Coins in addition to the Rare Stone and 10 Star Coins (Wild Mode only).

Light-Bulb Mouth Treasure Road Tips

As mentioned, because Kirby’s mobility is greatly reduced when players are holding down the B button, it’s best to tap B repeatedly to light up the way without Kirby slowing down, or tap B at intervals. This gives just enough light to see, but not enough that it’ll “blind” Kirby and make him walk slower. Always follow the signs. Going in the wrong direction will lead to a dead-end with spike traps or Ghost Gordos. Keep in mind that as Light-Bulb Mouth, Kirby cannot defend himself. If an enemy starts chasing after him, the only option is to run. Likewise, Kirby won’t be able to fly when he’s in Light-Bulb Mouth Mode. When charging the generators along the Treasure Road, charge them from the corner instead of standing right in front of it. If Kirby’s at the right distance, he’ll be able to power the “elevators” and avoid luring the Ghost Gordos. Avoid accidentally getting rid of the light bulb since it’s needed to reach the Rare Stone. If Kirby has rescued 145 Waddle Dees, the Waddle Dee’s Item Shop will open in Waddle Dee Town. Here, Kirby can purchase a Speed Boost for 150 Star Coins. As expected, the Speed Boost will increase his mobility for 200 seconds. This buff can be stacked up to 999 seconds. If players don’t want to waste their Star Coins at the Item Shop, then they can wait to get the blueprint for the Deep Sleep copy ability. Use this ability in Waddle Dee’s Weapon Shop until Kirby gets the Speed Boost. Unfortunately, Deep Sleep cannot stack buffs, so if players want a higher time limit than 200 seconds, they’ll need to purchase the remaining four Speed Boosts at the Item Shop.
