Beyond 2016, Cousins’ future with the team is uncertain. According to Pro Football Talk, there will be no long-term deal in place before the July 15 deadline.
The report, citing an unnamed source with knowledge of the situation, said there are no ongoing negotiations and none planned going forward. The source told PFT that the impasse will remain through the deadline.

That means Cousins can’t sign a multiyear contract with Washington until after the 2016 season.
PFT noted the Redskins then must decide on giving Cousins at least a 20-percent raise ($19.95 million increased to $23.94 million) at that point or let their quarterback enter free agency if no long-term deal can be reached.
