In the clip, posted to TikTok by Megan Cottone, known online as thebeagleandthebun, a tiny grey and white kitten can be seen snoozing while snuggled next to a sleeping beagle.

The little animals are lying on a white sofa on a red fluffy cover, and the golden ear of the dog is flopped over the baby cat’s head and shoulders.

In the short video, which can be watched here, the TikTok user’s hand can be seen reaching across to lift the ear off the kitten, who stirs briefly only to nuzzle back down under its friend’s soft furry flaps.

The post is captioned: “Just using the dogs ear as a blanket #cat #dog,” alongside a laughing-face emoji.

The video, which was posted to the app on July 17, has so far been viewed a whopping 15 million times and received more than 2.7 million likes.

Speaking to Newsweek, Cottone explained: “Ever since we lost our bunny Rue last year, our beagle Chloe has been desperate for a friend. When we brought our kitten Chlea home they took to each other right away and have been inseparable.”

Many people flooded the comments section with their thoughts on the heartwarming footage of the duo’s friendship.

One TikTok user, Aleesha, wrote: “When you are sleeping over at your friend’s house and they forget to give you a blanket.”

Another person, dhruv.vd2020, added: “Ayoo that’s an ear blanket?? I want one right now.”
