After breaking the NBA’s single-quarter scoring record with 37 points in January, Thompson turned in another memorable performance Monday with 26 points in the second quarter in a 111-107 Warriors win over the Grizzlies. He had 37 points on 14 of 17 shooting and was 7-for-8 from 3-point range after the first half.

Thompson was pulled from the game for good about midway through the third quarter and finished with 42 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Coupled with his Jan. 23 showing, Thompson is now the owner of two of the three highest-scoring quarters in the NBA this season. The other? A 26-point third quarter completed Feb. 5 by none other than teammate Steph Curry, who merely chipped in 15 points during Monday’s win.
It probably goes without saying that Thompson is also the only player in the NBA with multiple 25-point quarters this season, a feat accomplished last season by only LeBron James.
