At first, Thompson was diagnosed with a head contusion, despite showing “concussion-like symptoms.”

He was struck in the head by Houston forward Trevor Ariza’s knee during Game 5 of the Warriors’ series against the Rockets. Thompson was cleared to go back and play, but his father later said Thompson had to be driven home after the game and threw up a couple of times.

Thompson has until Thursday to be cleared by the NBA, when Cleveland travels to California to play Golden State in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
