Klay Thompson waited until after his team had won the title to clap back at the the two-time champion. He endorsed his teammate and 2014-15 NBA MVP Stephen Curry as the league’s preeminent player at the Warriors’ postgame news conference.

“It just feels good to say, you know, we’re the best team in the world with the best player in the world — this man sitting to my right,” Thompson said, pointing at Curry. “It’s been a journey and, man, I can’t put it into words. I’m so proud of every man on this team.”
