The 18-year-old Bayern Munich prospect, who last week switched international allegiances from Germany to the USA, has been named to Jurgen Klinsmann's roster for the Americans' friendly April 2 against Mexico in Glendale, Ariz. The match will be the USA's final tune-up before convening in mid-May for the pre-World Cup camp.
The squad otherwise is a largely veteran roster, including probable World Cup starters Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Michael Bradley, Omar Gonzalez, Matt Besler and DaMarcus Beasley, as well as national team regulars Clarence Goodson, Brad Evans, Graham Zusi, Kyle Beckerman and Eddie Johnson. The roster also features 20-year-olds DeAndre Yedlin and Luis Gil, who debuted for the national team in last month's friendly win over South Korea.
Aside from Green, the roster is comprised entirely of players from MLS and Liga MX, though players from Club Tijuana — including Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo and Herculez Gomez — were not available because of a CONCACAF Champions League match.
