The latest comes via ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, who reported that Anthony will soon plan his exit from New York.

"Carmelo Anthony is gone," Smith said. "Ain't no way in hell he's staying here (in New York). I'm hearing this is it. He's out. Unless the money disappears elsewhere, because he definitely wants to get paid. He's not trying to stay here for this."

The Knicks have certaintly had their share of problems, but Anthony denied the report (via EyeOnBasketball).

"I don't know who his sources are, but if it's not coming from me," Anthony said, "if it's not coming from people I talk to on a daily basis, which I don't talk to anybody about that — anybody on my crew, anybody on my team, family, nobody — then it's just not true."

Anthony stands to make the most money with the Knicks, who can sign him to a deal of up to $129 million. There are rumors of the Lakers' interest in Anthony, but it is unlikely they could afford Anthony after signing Kobe Bryant to a new, $48.5 million deal and still fill out a roster.
