The New York Post reported on Thursday that Anthony would consider waiving his no-trade clause in search of a new destination, but his agent, Leon Rose, has since refuted the claims, according to Ian Bagely of ESPNNewYork.com. Anthony later confirmed his agents words, stating that he never considered ducking out of New York.

“Come on, man. After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak, make me have a weak mind,” Anthony said, as Bagely noted. “I’ve never been a person to try to run from any adversity or anything like that so I’m not going to pick today to do that.”
Rose referred to the concept of Anthony waiving his no-trade clause as “nonsense.”
“Carmelo, as always, is committed to the Knicks,” Rose told ESPNNewYork.com in a text message on Friday. “There have never been discussions about trades or wanting to leave New York. Any story, rumor, report to the contrary is utter nonsense.”
These reports were fueled by the Knicks’ rough start to the NBA season, the worst in the team’s 69-year history. New York is 4-20 on the season and has lost 10 consecutive games.
A separate report indicated that Anthony has experienced problems with teammates, namely Tim Hardaway Jr. ESPN.com reported that an on-court altercation spilled off the court and Anthony threatened to beat up Hardaway Jr.
While Knicks president Phil Jackson is intent on “changing the culture,” the Knicks have been at their worst this season.
