New York has shown interest in Celtics forward Marcus Morris and guard Terry Rozier, according to a report from NBC Sports Boston, which cites multiple unidentified league sources. The team has also been linked to Kyrie Irving, who is expected to opt out of his contract with Boston this summer.

Rozier, who will be a restricted free agent, averaged nine points and 2.9 assists in 22.7 minutes per game for Boston this season. But, he shot just 38.7% from the field and appeared unhappy with his role.

“I might have to go (if the Celtics’ roster remains the same)," Rozier said during an appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” Tuesday. “I put up with a lot this year, so, you know, I said what I said after the season (and) I think we all know that I’m not trying to step into that again.”

The 25-year-old said he’s looking for an opportunity to be a bigger contributor on both ends of the floor.

“I’m looking forward to just playing ball,” Rozier said, “I don’t care where I go. … I expect for me to get my chance, whether it’s with the Celtics or is anywhere else. I can be myself and play my game wherever I go.”

Morris, meanwhile, tallied 13.9 points per game and knocked down 37.5% of his 3-point attempts in 2018-19. He has also played for the Suns, Pistons and Rockets over his eight-year career.

The Celtics finished 2018-19 with a 49-33 record and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they fell to the Bucks in five games.

The Knicks, on the other hand, completed one of their worst seasons in franchise history, registering a 17-65 record. They’re expected to pursue Kevin Durant this summer, as well, and also could look to trade for Pelicans star Anthony Davis.
