If someone tells him the Lakers are 1-7 this season with no shot to make the playoffs, he’ll probably ask if the playoffs are tomorrow because otherwise there’s always a chance. He never gives up and never reflects on things that should’ve or could’ve been done in the past.

It just goes to show the level of respect that Bryant has for fellow veteran and future Hall of Famer, Tim Duncan. When discussing the career stability of Duncan, Bryant didn’t hold back.
“I can’t express to you how much I’m jealous,” Bryant told LA Daily News. “I’ve been up and down.”
Although Bryant has won multiple back-to-back championships, he said he’d rather have the consistency of contending each year like the Spurs.
“I’ll take that over being able to do it twice,” Bryant said. “I’m not giving up any tips.”
As it stands now the Lakers won’t be in the playoffs but Bryant is going to try his best. The Lakers-Spurs playoff matchup is unmatched and Bryant knows it.
“I want a crack at him [Duncan],” Bryant said. “I would love to play the spurs in the playoffs one more time.”
He and the new crew of Lakers will have a difficult road in getting there with the Western Conference looking tougher by the day. According to Bryant, he and Duncan have the same competitive fire so anything is possible. The two legends will meet for the 78th time Friday night.
