RELATED: Genshin Impact: Mistakes Players Make When Playing Yae Miko

This new item, Ocean-Hued Clam, successfully dethrones Heart of Depths from being the best artifact set for offensive Kokomi. Now, Kokomi can brilliantly do different works, whether it’s support, sub-DPS, or main DPS. Considering how the Divine Priestess can take multiple roles, her best Genshin Impact teammates also adjust to the job players choose for their Kokomi.

Updated on September 27, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: Dendro has been eagerly awaited since the very start of Genshin Impact. It was the last Element to complete Teyvat’s law of seven Elements: Hydro, Pyro, Electro, Anemo, Geo, Cryo, and Dendro. Before Sumeru’s release, the only available Dendro reaction was Burning, which occurs when Pyro and Dendro reacts. Almost two years later, HoYoverse finally allows players to enjoy this nature-related Element. For that, this Kokomi team composition guide will be updated to include combinations that involve Dendro in Genshin Impact.

Perma-Freeze Composition

For a Kokomi Perma-Freeze team, players will need a Cryo and Anemo character along with Sangonomiya Kokomi. For this comp, players can opt to make Kokomi a support/sub-DPS or the main DPS. If the Divine Priestess is taking the main DPS role, then the Cryo unit should be a sub-DPS and vice versa.

So, Kokomi’s Perma-Freeze team will consist of either:

Cryo DPS + Anemo support + Hydro or Cryo sub-DPS Anemo support + Hydro sub-DPS + Cryo sub-DPS

Ganyu/Ayaka

For Cryo DPS, the obvious option would be Ganyu and Ayaka. Both of them are currently the most favored DPS in Genshin Impact, thanks to their ease of use and large damage potential.

Not only the main DPS, but both Ganyu and Ayaka can also take the sub-DPS role, making them an excellent choice with the Divine Priestess, regardless of what role players want their Kokomi to take.

Venti/Sucrose/Kazuha

For the Anemo support, players should choose units that can easily absorb Element. This way, players can ensure easy access to the Frozen reaction. Therefore, Anemo units like Sayu, Xiao, Jean, and Anemo Traveler aren’t as practical to use as the listed three.

Meanwhile, Venti, Sucrose, and Kazuha are the best options. In terms of Crowd Control, Venti still takes the crown as the best CC. But when it comes to team buffs, Sucrose and Kazuha are the better choices.

Xingqiu/Mona/Yelan/Rosaria/Kaeya

Lastly, players will want either a Hydro or Cryo sub-DPS. If the main DPS is a Cryo unit, then it’s highly advised to go for Cryo to activate Cryo Resonance. But if Kokomi is the damage dealer, then Travelers should opt for Hydro characters, especially those who can regenerate her Energy. Activating Hydro Resonance is also amazing for Kokomi as it increases the team’s HP by 25%.

For Cryo sub-DPS, Rosaria and Kaeya are a great (and cheap) choice. Meanwhile, for Hydro ones, Xingqiu is an amazing Genshin Impact battery and damage dealer. Yelan is also amazing at damage dealing (and will benefit from Hydro Resonance), but she can’t perform as a battery for Kokomi. Lastly, Mona is a viable choice, but she’s not as good as the other two.

Dendro Composition

After the Sumeru update in Genshin Impact 3.0, players can now utilize various Dendro Elemental reactions in Genshin Impact. One of the core reactions available for Dendro is Bloom, and it heavily requires Hydro to trigger. Sangonomiya Kokomi happens to be an excellent Hydro enabler that can easily set the field for Bloom reactions, so here’s what players can do with her.

Bloom

The Bloom reaction requires Dendro and Hydro to make. Here’s a sample composition for this play style:

Kokomi + Dendro MC + Collei + Hydro character (Nilou, Tartaglia, Xingqiu, or Yelan) Kokomi + Dendro MC + Collei + Anemo character (Venti, Kazuha, or Sucrose)

Hyperbloom

After creating Dendro Cores via the Bloom reaction, players must now wait for six seconds for it to explode. Those who wish for an instant explosion can opt for the Hyperbloom or Burgeon team. Hyperbloom activates the Dendro Cores by applying Electro on them, while Burgeon occurs when Pyro hits the Cores.

For a Hyperbloom team, players can try:

Kokomi Sucrose Dendro character (Collei or Dendro MC) Electro character (Dori, Fischl, Yae Miko, Beidou, or Raiden Shogun)

Burgeon

As for the Burgeon team, currently, there are not many reliable Pyro units to trigger the reaction. Players can use Yanfei for this job, but Thoma is the easiest option since he can do the job while being off-field. For this Kokomi team comp, players can do something like:

Kokomi Thoma Dendro MC Collei

Electro-Charged Composition

For the Electro-Charged team, there are two routes players can take with their Kokomi; the main DPS or damage buffer. As a buffer, Kokomi should use 4-Tenacity of the Millelith for her artifact and Hakushin Ring as her Genshin Impact Catalyst.

Raiden Shogun

The key unit for an Electro-Charged comp would be Raiden Shogun. The Electro Archon provides constant Electro application and can help Sangonomiya Kokomi regain her Elemental Burst. Ei can also take seven seconds of field time if the main DPS is on cooldown.

Electro Sub-DPS

The second character on the team would be an Electro damage dealer. Travelers can bring Genshin Impact characters like Yae Miko, Fischl, Beidou, Keqing, and Kujou Sara. Some of these units can also fill multiple roles.

Sub-DPS: Yae Miko, Fischl, and Beidou Main DPS or sub-DPS: Keqing Support or sub-DPS: Kujou Sara

Tartaglia

For the last slot, players can opt for another Electro unit or any character they desire. For example, characters like Tartaglia could fill the shoe as the damage dealer in the team. With Raiden Shogun and Kokomi present in the party, both of them can fill Childe’s downtime when his Elemental Skill is on cooldown. If players are using the Divine Priestess as a buffer, then Childe will also benefit from the damage bonus provided by Hakushin Ring.

Vaporize Composition

The key to a Vaporize comp with Kokomi would be a Pyro enabler. By far, Vaporize and Melt is two of the most favored Elemental reactions as they yield the highest damage count. For Vaporize Kokomi, players should place Xiangling on the team. Additionally, Bennett can also be included to buff the team’s damage.

Xiangling

Xiangling is an amazing sub-DPS in many ways. Other than the fact that she can easily snapshot buffs, the Liyue chef’s Elemental Burst also defies the law of Internal Cooldown. Usually, if a certain character creates an Elemental reaction, they either need to wait for 2.5s or three hits to trigger another one. But Xiangling’s Pyronado completely ignores this concept and can trigger a reaction every hit.

So if players use her Burst before Kokomi’s, they’ll find the Liyue chef triggering Vaporize non-stop while Kokomi continuously applies Hydro on the field.

Bennett

Not only increasing the team’s attack, but Bennett is especially amazing with Xiangling because of her snapshot feature. Snapshotting is when a certain character keeps the buff they get for the entire duration of their skill. So if Xiangling was standing on Bennett’s field and then cast her Elemental Burst, her Pyronado would retain the attack buff, even after the bonus expires.

But this concept also goes the other way around, where if players cast Xiangling’s Burst before Bennett’s, the Pyronado will not benefit from the Adventurer’s attack buff.

Superconduct Composition

This team composition may not be very popular, but it shouldn’t be underestimated. With Ocean-Hued Clam being Kokomi’s new best artifact, players should understand how this item works when using it.

Ocean-Hued Clam can’t crit, and it doesn’t scale with any damage bonus. However, its damage still scales with the enemy’s Physical Resistance. So in a team that focuses on Superconduct reaction, the artifact set can deal even higher damage.

Eula

For a Superconduct team, the first character should be a Physical DPS. For this job, players can use other characters like Razor or Rosaria, but the best choice would be Eula. The Spindrift Knight isn’t only the best Physical DPS in Genshin Impact, but her kit also allows her to reduce the enemy’s Physical Resistance. This will further stack with the reduction from Superconduct, allowing both Eula and Ocean-Hued Clam to deal far higher damage.

Raiden Shogun

The next unit would be an Electro enabler. Other units viable for this role would be someone like Fischl or Yae Miko. But, of course, Raiden Shogun is easily the best choice for the slot. Other than allowing easy access to Superconduct, Raiden Shogun will enhance Eula’s massive Elemental Burst damage. The Electro Archon will also fill both Eula and Sangonomiya Kokomi’s Elemental Burst.

Rosaria/Bennett

For the final slot, players can either opt for Bennett or C6 Rosaria. Rosaria’s final Genshin Impact Constellation is crucial for this team composition. When the Sister’s Elemental Burst hits an enemy, it will reduce the opponent’s Physical Resistance by 20%, another decrease that’ll stack with the other reductions.

Bennett is viable if players are using Cryo Physical DPS, but if Travelers opt for Razor, then they’ll need a Cryo unit to trigger Superconduct.

Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
